The region has one research pilot plant for producing ethanol from ligno cellulose, a total fleet of over 1400 ethanol vehicles, both private and public. There is also 20 developed refuelling stations, with both low blend (5%), E85 (85%) and Flexifuel pumps (different blends, E10, E75 and E85) (all figures from beginning of 2006).
