Demonstration of ethanol bus fleets
Stockholm, Nanyang, Beijing, La Spezia, Sao Paolo and Madrid have demonstrated the operation of totally 138 ethanol-fuelled buses in various environments. Evaluation has been done in a harmonised way to take into account the energy efficiency, technical performance and passenger’s perceptions across sites.
Installation of fuel stations
In order to supply the buses with ethanol fuel, new refuelling stations has been installed. The number of stations is related to the needs:
One fuel pump
Madrid (not funded by EU),
Sao Paulo (a supply point, not funded by the EU),
Nanyang (supplying E100),
La Spezia
Seven fuel pumps
Stockholm (five stations funded by EU)
